The Pheasant and Waterfowl Society of Australia (PWSA)

was formed in 1966 and has branches in all states except Tasmania

The objects of the NSW Society are:

  • to encourage the culture & propagation of all species of pheasants and waterfowl in Australia and to perpetuate, to the best of our ability, those species in their purest and most perfect form, and
  • to endeavour to have new species and fresh stock introduced.

The current members of the committee of the NSW Society are:

  • President: Doug Somerville
  • Vice President: Bob Elgood
  • Secretary: Max Blanco
  • Treasurer, vacant (we need one)
  • Exchange Steward, Wayne Newman (for now)
  • Librarian: Daryll Swan
  • Committee:  John Burchell

Activities include:

  • Up to 6 meetings each year. Next meeting
  • Aviary visits
  • Biennial national conference
  • Access to Branch library
  • Birds wanted and available see Exchange Steward News
  • Providing displays at functions such as agricultural shows
  • Members also receive "The Pheasant", the PWSA magazine.
